These twin houses are located at the top of a hill overlooking a wide river in the province of Nan, northwest of Thailand. The project was conceived around two ideas. The first idea is to be take over the identity and feelings of traditional Thai houses. The architecture is functional, very simple and uses basic materials such as wood or brick. The second idea is to associate this vernacular architecture with a very particular topography. The houses are on a steep slope. The organization of the spaces thus adopts a contemporary approach in order to link the elements by means of bridges, balconies, staircases and terraced spaces in order to make the most of the surrounding nature and natural ventilation.
